Liverpool Comic Con was massive, utterly massive!

We were set-up in the M&S Bank Arena, which is where we spent most of our time. We were in amazing company, sandwiched between Aliens cast members Jenette Goldstein, Paul Reiser, Mark Rolston, William Hope, Ricco Ross, Daniel Kash and a life size Powerloader and Predator trophy wall display. The room was filled with a vast array of props and displays from other films: a life size AT-ST and Imperial Bunker, Starship Trooper Bugs and Compound, the A-Team van, a Jurassic Park Explorer and Jeep and even Jabba the Hutt! There was such much more on offer, but sadly there wasn't the time to see it all.
Seeing so many Aliens fans in one place was stunning and it was great seeing group members, old and new, engaging with everyone on all things Aliens and the extended universes. We trialled our new Nerf Shooting Range, which was enjoyed by everyone – including some surprisingly accurate Storm Troopers, Davros, who sounded like he was having the time of his life ...and Richard Chaves! AKA Poncho from Predator. He annihilated the targets!
We were collecting for the Merseyside based charity Kind over the weekend, running an Aliens themed Tombola on both days along with buckets for the interactive parts of our display and managed to raised £615! Thank you to everyone who donated.
Whilst it was Star Wars Day: May 4th on the Sunday it was Aliens Day: April 26 the weekend before, which saw the release of an amazing documentary, Beneath London: The Story Of Alien War, that focusses on the unique and brief attraction Alien War. It was fitting therefore that one of Alien War's most decorated marines, Doug McCarthy, joined us on the Saturday as an honorary member along with some Alien War related items. If you haven't watched it yet, I suggest you grab yourself some cornbread, sit back and enjoy...
Being able to speak briefly with the Aliens cast and some group photos at the Powerloader with them was a great experience... A Massive Thank You to Andy, Jason, Dave and the rest of the Monopoly Team for yet another great weekend and letting us be part of it!
