What a weekend!... £1156.37 was raised for Edinburgh Dog And Cat Home on Saturday and Sunday at Comic Con Scotland in Edinburgh! ...and that's not even counting the many QR code scans, which we will sadly never know the full total. Thank You to everyone that donated to this great cause over the weekend - to everyone that helped over the two days and in the weeks running up – this couldn't have been achieved without your support and hard work. We'd also like to thank all the friendly and welcoming staff working at the Royal Highland Centre over the weekend and Monopoly Events for making such an amazing event and having us along to showcase our displays. We all had a great time and are already excited about next year and some of the new ideas we're going to bring along and share. For now, everything is packed away and we're all having some much needed rest. Here are some Saturday photos from our photographer, Tomas. Enjoy!

  • Alien Romulus UK Premier

Last night I had the pleasure of attending the UK Premier of Alien Romulus at the historic, luscious Cameo Cinema. Following in the footsteps of Ridley Scott's 1979 masterpiece Alien, Fede Álvarez's 2O24 contribution to the Alien landscape crashed onto screens with it's UK Premier showing in Edinburgh. The Facehugger's had a lovely evening too - getting many a hug from other cinema goers and staff at the Edinburgh Film Festival , as part of Midnight Madness . There was also a Xeno skulking around in the shadows! Get yourself to the cinema to see this crazy masterpiece of a film!

  • "So What Is It?"

...It's Comic Con Liverpool Wow, had a smegging ace time! The boys from the Dwarf were gents. Rimsy, AKA Chris Barrie, loved seeing Mr Flibble again and even had him on his hand for a brief moment... "Who'd clean up all the mess?!?" Having Danny John-Jules singing along to pretty much the whole of Tongue Tied whilst it was playing on the boombox was a highlight. Wish I could've given him 6 portions of Trout a la Creme for knocking it out of the park. Craig Charles and Robert Llewellyn were equally lovely. The mammoth X-Wing, Jurassic Park gate & Jeep Wrangler and Johnny 5 were stunning - great displays. Met some lovely people, great to see so many Red Dwarf fans and awesome costumes. Didn't get to see everything, or everyone - there was that much to do! Definitely a 2 day event. Now, bring on summer!

  • Thank You, Alice Cooper!

Out of bad news comes good news! The bad news: Michael Biehn had to cancel last weekends appearance at Comic Con Scotland Aberdeen . We blame Alice Cooper and the need for reshoots! All of us were proper gutted. The good news... no, the great news: it ended up being SCI-FI and BEYOND's first appearance at a convention with a cracking Aliens display. Very last minute but we all pulled together and managed to represent "team Hicks" as best we could. It was a great weekend, a lot of amazing memories and met so many friendly people. The world of Aliens is very much alive and the arrival of Alien: Romulus seems to be on everyone's mind. Coming up next - the Master Chief will be bringing some spartan action at Comic Con North East on 13th and 14th April. Monopoly's event at the Utilita Arena in Newcastle is not to be missed... some great displays and guests: Jenna Coleman, John Barrowman, Jason Patric, Craig Charles, Danny John Jules, Robert Llewellyn... Smegging awesome! ...And We will be converting the APC into Starbug in May as we visit Liverpool Comic Con . The boys from the dwarf will be joined by Chris "Ace" Barrie - the whole crew! According to Space Corps Directive 119 there is going to be a bounty of guests! Orlando Bloom, Elijah Wood, Andy Serkis, Sean Astin, Domi... Basically the whole cast of Lord Of The Rings! Joined by Kevin Smith & Jason Mewes, Katey Sagal and Martha Plimpton and Kerri Green of Goonies fame and so many more. ...Fun, Fun, Fun!

  • Smashed It!

Aberdeen Comic Con next week, can't wait!

  • "Come With Me If You Want To Live... In Aberdeen".

We're away from the central belt next month to attend Monopoly's Comic Con Scotland Aberdeen , their most northern Scotland event. It has a ridiculously good looking line-up: Karen Gillan, Rose McGowan, G.W. Bailey, Lance Kinsey, Jessie T Usher, James Marsters, Charisma Carpenter and the one and only Michael Biehn! "I'm gonna keep this handy for close encounters!" We'll be there both Saturday and Sunday, hope to see some friendly faces there. We'll also be celebrating Jason and Cornelius' birthdays so please, keep the noise down on Sunday.
